Tomorrow we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the US. It’s so easy to love this holiday because it’s a day designated for nothing other than giving thanks.
But sometimes, with all that’s going on, it may be tough to stay in that open-hearted place of gratitude.
If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year you may have already boarded the stress train. So many things to prepare, get done, organize and arrange. Maybe you’ll be sharing your time with family who may not be on your wavelength. Or maybe you’re traveling. There are a million and one reasons to get knocked out of a state of gratitude.
You know your go-to gratitude crashers. Take note of them because realizing this is the key to curing it.
This is why I want to share a visualization with you that I love. When you can practice maintaining a state of gratitude even when your thoughts or situation want to take you somewhere else, like stress or overwhelm, you can become more of a proactive creator of your life.
Besides causing you to feel better, gratitude is also the fastest gateway to get more of what you are grateful for. Gratitude opens your heart, and an open heart is the gateway to the pure, positive energy flow of blessings of health, wealth and love. It all starts and ends in the heart, and gratitude is a key that can open that baby wide.
Read first, then practice. 🙂
With your eyes closed place your hand over your heart and take three deep inhales and exhales. Imagine you are breathing into your heart. Imagine your heart expand every time you breathe in. Next, imagine your heart is a color. It can be green, red, white, whatever color comes to mind. This is your color of gratitude. As you breath, the color becomes brighter and brighter, opening your heart even further. Imagine this color now going all throughout your body, illuminating your body with gratitude. When you are ready you can open your eyes.
Anticipate Gratitude Instead of Stress
The more you practice this visualization the quicker it will become second nature to you. Soon enough seeing your color of gratitude will trigger you to feel gratitude. Your brain and body are so strongly connected that soon enough the connection will be formed without you trying.
See, most of us anticipate stress. With this visualization you will begin to anticipate things to be grateful for. You can practice this visualization before a situation that you know is a stress-inducer for you, or during a stressful situation. You can also practice this visualization when you’re already in the state of gratitude to further enhance it. There is no limit on how good you can feel or how big your state of receivership can be. It really and truly is up to you.
One thing is for sure, I am incredibly grateful for you. This community has grown so much and I am so very thankful you are a part of it. I am constantly inspired by you. You have expanded my heart in such beautiful ways. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
With so much love and gratitude,
PS You can also practice this visualization with someone you love! Place your hands over each other hearts and expand your gratitude together.
